As the Chief of Governance & Strategic Acquisitions, Priya leads the Fleet Acquisition and
Management, Regulatory Affairs and the Legal and Compliance departments at Akasa. Priya
manages key strategic relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and several
aircraft lessors. She has been integral to establishing a transparent and collaborative approach with
regulatory authorities including the Director General of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Priya brings along extensive experience in private practice where she advised clients on mergers
and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity transactions, government privatizations, capital
markets and general corporate advice.

Prior to joining Akasa Air, she was the in-house General Counsel of IndiGo, where she was part of
the eight-member Executive Committee and chaired the Internal Sexual Harassment Committee
apart from being a member of the Compliance Committee. Priya is a post-graduate in Law from the
University of Delhi and is dual-qualified to practice law in India, England & Wales.
Under her leadership, Akasa Air’s in-house legal team has been recognized by IBLJ for Aviation for
FY 2023- 2024. Priya was recognized by BW Legal World as one among the ‘Top 100 General
Counsels in India’, the ‘BW Legal Most influential women in Legal in 2023’, recognized as the
“Woman Lawyer of the Year- In – House 2021’ by Asia Legal Business, mentioned in the Legal 500
GC Power list for India Teams in 2018.
